As always, the biggest, most diverse and culturally creative New Year's shows are the Sea of Dreams shows raised by our friends at Anon Salon.
The full city block long Concourse Center may be a little short on intimate getaway corners, but if you want to kick off the new year in a spectacular and beautifully costumed fashion, there's really no other option.
Anon's creative team is pulling in some serious playa-tested deejays in Tipper and Bassnectar, and on Anon's LunaSea stage, there is ZAP MAMA both nights - a truly incredible band featuring the regal Marie Daulne and her powerful band of afro-groove musicians and vocalists. And from Seattle, the delightful Circus Contraption - plus the ever-popular Jammers - String Cheese Incident.
But really, it's the whole thing - the art, the interactivity, the costumes, the vibe - belly dancers … burlesque … circus … acrobatics … stilters … puppetry … DIY art making … sculpture garden … art galleries … interactive art installations… body painting … face painting … live art!! And ring in the New Year with Anon's Circularious, an interplanetary circus opera spectacular!
